The Vital Role of Volunteers at Marin Community Clinics’ Health Hubs

By February 13, 2025No Comments

MCC Health HubFor families struggling to put food on the table, Marin Community Clinics’ Health Hubs are a lifeline. Held weekly in San Rafael and Novato in partnership with the SF/Marin Food Bank and ExtraFood, these pantries provide free, nutritious food to an estimated 900+ individuals weekly. Beyond food, the Health Hubs also offer community resources and education, creating a holistic approach to community wellness.

Volunteers: The Backbone of the Health Hubs

The success of our Health Hubs depends on the dedication and hard work of our volunteers. We are grateful for the individuals and local businesses like BlackRock, Target, and Bank of Marin, groups that all play a vital role in distributing food and creating a welcoming environment for the families we serve.

“When individuals and teams from businesses volunteer they bring incredible energy to the Health Hubs,” explains Miguel Ruelas. “Their participation not only helps us meet the needs of our community but also fosters a spirit of giving back that inspires others to get involved.”

Year-Round Need for Volunteers
While the holidays often inspire acts of service, the need for volunteers at the Health Hubs exists every week, all year long. Families rely on this support to access essential food and services, and through the dedication of our volunteers we ensure our community has access to nutritious food.

We invite adults and businesses to volunteer on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and/or Saturdays. Whether you can join us regularly or as part of a corporate group, your time will make a lasting impact on the lives of local families.
