Marin Community Clinics’ Golf Tournament Takes a Swing at Healthcare for All

The picturesque Meadow Club in Fairfax set the stage on Sept. 9 for Marin Community Clinics’ annual fundraising golf tournament.

132 golfers hit the links to help raise more than $113,000 for accessible healthcare and to support Marin Community Clinics’ nine medical, dental and behavioral health facilities throughout the county.

Out on the course, golfers enjoyed real-time swing instruction and tips from pro golfer Pearl Rojanapeansatith of Perform for Golf — and an end-of-day bagpipe serenade by Pipe Major Janice Richey of the Macintosh Pipe Band.

They also enjoyed treats from a number of ‘hole hosts’ including Alaniz Marketing, ATCO Pest ControlPoppy BankLocal MotionMoonlight Brewing and CartelligentElk Fence Distillery held a whiskey tasting at the long drive hole.

After departing the links, golfers and the rest of the attendees—170 in all—perused the robust silent auction filled with golf and travel themed items up for bid as they enjoyed cocktails from the Bloody Mary bar stocked by Marinitas and wine provided by Andy’s Markets. Dinner was provided by the Meadow Club.

Several golfers took home bragging rights, including the lowest score foursome of Justin Burt, Marc Sebastian, Breck Milde and Eric Hartnett.

The longest drive award went to Isaac Klein in the men’s category, and Tracy Hogan in the women’s category. Scott Peattie and Sherri McDannold both won closest to the pin in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively.

In the fun department, best dressed golfer award went to Dr. Jose Chibras and Karl Reichstetter.
