Dr. Sarah Arneal earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology and Spanish at the University of Northern Iowa. She later attended the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. After graduating with honors, she pursued additional specialty clinical training at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Long Island, New York. Dr. Arneal completed her residency program in Primary Eye Care/Vision Therapy and Low Vision Rehabilitation. In 2016, she returned to the Bay Area to teach at UC Berkeley School of Optometry.
As a full-time faculty member of the school, Dr. Arneal provides care for patients in underserved regions across three affiliated community clinics in both Marin and Alameda counties. Although originally from the Midwest, she has lived in several places including Hawaii, New Jersey, and Spain, but she has called the Bay Area home for the last decade. Dr. Arneal is fluent in both English and Spanish.
